Come to the Table: Incarceration: Bent, Not Broken Healing People and Changing a System
Founders and leaders of groups that help people both in prison and out are the featured speakers at “Come to the Table” Forum on Sat., Sept. 13 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 101 Donahue, Marin City.
“Incarceration: Bent, Not Broken / Healing People and Changing a System” will feature Stewart Perrilliat, Man 2 Man; Adelaide Hurlbut, Humans of San Quentin; Don Carney, Youth Transforming Justice; and Fahim Reese, Motivated 2 Help Others. They will discuss how their groups help individuals avoid prison, survive incarceration and re-enter society to live successful lives post-imprisonment.
In addition, Markelle “the Gazelle” Taylor will relate his experiences as a runner in San Quentin State Prison’s 1000 Mile Club.
